I spent my whole Sunday on this. Vidding is fun.

Moonlight, Season 1, Episode 7: "The Ringer" (2007)
Music: David Bowie - Cat People (Inglourious Basterds OST)

Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) meets his former wife, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), who turned him into a vampire.

Moonlight is one of my favourite shows - I was so sad when they axed it!

I see you've used the Moonlight video for your intro! I've always wondered how it would have ended if the show hadn't been axed; the last thing I remember (and I'll need to double-check on my DVD set) Beth had staked Coraline, not realising that she was no longer a vampire but remembering that it was Coraline who kidnapped her as a child, then Coraline's hospital bed is empty - so what happened and where did she go? My guess is that - whatever she took to make herself human again - once she died she reverted to Vampire?

We were seriously left hanging on that one!

I remember Coraline giving Mick the "remedy", and then Mick begging Josef to turn him again to save Beth... and I remember Beth staking Coraline for kidnapping her as a child. I remember coraline on life support and then an empty bed (which looked as though it had been abandoned rather than have someone die in it).

The last episode we got to see in the UK was of Beth and Mick giving in to their feelings for each other. If there were more episodes after that then I'd love to get my vampire-obsessed hands on them!

Ahhh.... so Lance took her from the hospital? That makes sense, as he most likely turned her back as well (and I've always suspected that she somehow became Vampire again). I was really hoping to learn more about Coraline and then the axe fell - just as it always seems to do on my favourite shows (such as Firefly).

I have a Moonlight-addicted friend on LJ, and she and I have speculated about Mick and Coraline's "marriage". We both think that a human/vampire marriage wouldn't be valid as - technically - the vampire isn't human. Thoughts?

I'm not sure. From Buffy to True Blood and every other supernatural/undead show in between, it seems that a Vampire cannot legally marry a living human. My theory (since she hid her Vamp side to lure him in) is that she staged the wedding under false pretences, knowing that it wasn't legit - but Mick would believe it was the real deal. Possibly the only way she could get him close enough to turn him in those days of high morals etc. If I remember correctly he was horrified when he realised what she'd done to him and he left her - so she kidnapped Beth knowing that he could never ignore the safety of a child because he still retained too much humanity. Instead of coming back to her he rescued Beth and set the house on fire, but Coraline somehow escaped (I remember that she does tell Mick how she survived but I can't remember what she told him).

You have no idea how happy I am to be discussing this show with somebody again :D

There are so very many different possibilities aren't there? Mick had no idea that Coraline was a Vampire until their wedding night - and I don't think that turning him would make their marriage legal.

I do remember, as you said, that Coraline was desperate for a child. She was desperately twisted. Perhaps she never wanted to be a Vampire in the first place and it drove her mad? A bit like Dru from Buffy?
